I was inspired by Brazilian limeade (made with limes and sweetened condensed milk) to create a simple, creamy version with lemons and strawberries. Perfect for sipping all summer long!
Ingredients
1 ½ cups strawberries
2 lemons
4 cups water
½ can of sweetened condensed milk (150ml)
3 tbsp honey
1 cup ice (plus more for serving)
For garnish: fresh mint and lemon slices
Instructions
- In a blender, add the 1 ½ cups of strawberries.
- Zest the 2 lemons, then remove the peel using a knife, keeping only the flesh.
- Add the lemon flesh, zest, and 4 cups of water to the blender. Blend for about 30 seconds.
- Strain the mixture using a fine mesh sieve to remove the pulp.
- Pour the filtered liquid back into the blender. Add ½ can of sweetened condensed milk (150ml), 3 tbsp honey, and 1 cup of ice. Blend for a few seconds until smooth.
- If foam forms on top, skim it off with a spoon.
- Pour into glasses filled with ice. Garnish with mint leaves and lemon slices.
